STurkey is continuing its assault on the Kurdish city of Afrin, an operation President Erdogan claims to be aimed at routing out the YPG group from the Turkish border.
Ankara claims that this group is allied with the PKK Kurdistan Worker`s Party, a listed terrorist organization in Turkey.
"We are determined, Afrin will be sorted out," declared Erdogan triumphantly as he addressed the nation on Monday. "We will take no step back," he continued, "We spoke about this with our Russian friends; we have an agreement."
Russia occupies a vital place in the Syrian civil war since their intervention at the behest of Syrian President Bashaar al Assad, if, as Ergodan affirms, there is indeed an agreement between the two nations then that would entail the removal of a possible stumbling block in the action.
