How did Donald Trump win the Election in the United States

What seemed impossible for many, has transpired. During this Tuesday night results began to emerge from across the nation and bit by bit Donald Trump began to gain the upper hand.

Worry began to set in within the Clinton camp as results trickled in from Florida, showing a very tight race indeed, with the advantage passing between the two candidates, until the businessman finally began to pull away.

Early results in the states of North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania seemed to favor Clinton, showing her with a lead, however Trump slowly began to overcome the deficit and ended up taking all three.

Trump will be inaugurated on January 20, 2017.

Colin Kaepernick Refuses to Stand for the National Anthem

Colin Kaepernick, a quarterback with the San Francisco 49ers, caused great controversy after refusing to stand for the national anthem, a move which he later stated was related to the ongoing racial unrest plaguing the United States.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," he told nfl.com.

"To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way.

"There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.’'

A spokesman for the team later confirmed that Kaepernick had not broken any rules for not standing “We recognize the right of an individual to choose and participate, or not, in our celebration of the national anthem,".

Following this, many took to social media to express their support or disgust for Kaepernicks`s actions, with many tweeting pictures with his quotes in solidarity with the football star, while others uploading pictures of people burning his jersey.
