Price of Bitcoin Today February 2018

An announcement from Arun Jaitley, the Finance Minister of India, has sent shockwaves throughout the global cryptocurrency market. “The government does not consider cryptocurrencies as legal tender or coin and (will) take all measures to eliminate the use of crypto assets" declared Jaitley today.

Many governments have found themselves at odds with cryptocurrencies and have taken measures to try to control or stem their growth, India however, has taken it a step further and effectively declared bitcoin to be illegal.

In the wake of this news, Bitcoin fell to $9,400, representing a loss of 9% and rendering it at its lowest level since December of last year.

Ripple, cardano, bitcoin cash and many other virtual currencies were also hit hard, losing over 10%. Ethereum was seemingly weathering the storm however, recording a gain of 1%.

Bitcoin Price December 2017 Predictions

With Crypto Currencies becoming ever more popular, Bitcoin prominent among them, many analysts are torn as to whether this is the future of buying and selling online or a grave threat to our economy.

Bitcoin continues to set new records, passing $9,000 dollars this Monday.

At the beginning of the year it had a value of just $1,000 before a meteoric rise, nearing the $10.000 mark this Monday November 27.

This has lead to fervent debate amongst the experts as they continue to ponder whether a Crypto Coin bubble is being formed and if the current trend is sustainable, in the latter case, the question remains as to how this will affect electronic transactions in the years and decades to come.
