A quick glance at the polls over the course of the last few weeks would tend to indicate that Donald Trump is decidedly behind in the presidential race. However, during the last few days, as is usual at this stage of a race, the gap has closed significantly, leaving him a mere 1 or 2 points behind democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
RealClearPolitics Average
Hillary Clinton 45.6%
Donald Trump 42.9%
Many observers have noted that in past elections the candidate that was winning at this stage has gone on to lose the race. Whether that will be the case this time remains to be seen, but with these new polls showing a possible tight race, it is certainly far from over.
