Poll Trump vs Clinton Today September 17 2016

The presidential race, one of the most exciting in many years, appears to be tightening, as Hillary Clinton`s lead over republican candidate Donald Trump has shortened to a mere 2 points.

A new poll released by CBS News/New York Times shows Clinton on 46% with Trump on 44%.

In a four way race between Clinton, Trump, Gary Johnson and Jill Stein then Clinton and Trump are tied on 42% each among likely voters.

This new poll comes as the Clinton campaign has fallen into disarray after a video emerged on Sunday of the democratic candidate collapsing as she left the event for the ceremony to the victims of September 11. In addition to this Trump also appears to be surging in the key swing states of Florida and Ohio.

The poll was undertaken between 9-13 September of 1,753 adults nationwide, including 1,433 registered voters with a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

Donald Trump is Winning September 2016

For the first time since July a poll has been published which shows Donald Trump leading Hillary Clinton, albeit by only 1 point.

According to the survey, which was conducted between August 26 and September 1 by Reuters ,Trump is at 40% compared to Clinton on 39%, whereas 20% didn`t wish to vote for either of the candidates. When asked to decide between 4 candidates, including Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green Jill Stein, Trump and Clinton were tied on 39%.

To put this in comparison, one poll during August had Clinton 12% ahead, so Trump appears to be heading in the right direction and closing the gap.

Trump was leading for a brief period at the end of July after apparently benefiting from a "bounce" following the RNC in Cleveland, Ohio. However with the beginning of the DNC, Clinton swiftly retook the lead once more.

In the case of republican voters, 78% opted for Trump in the poll.
