What is Donald Trumps Military Policy?

Donald Trump has declared that if elected, he would massively increase defense spending and give the army generals 30 days to develop a plan to defeat and destroy ISIS.

The Republican candidate has built his campaign in large part on security issues, affirming that he is the only one who can keep Americans safe from threats both external and internal.

Trump has railed against America`s Nato allies for not "paying their way" in the bloc, noting that only 5 countries spend the required 2% of GDP on defense. He insists that he will make countries like Germany and Japan "pay their fair share" in exchange for the continued protection of the United States.

He opposed the Iraq war and intervening to topple Bashar al Asaad in Syria but at the same time has repeatedly said he would "knock the hell out of ISIS".

The businessman has also frequently praised Vladimir Putin, saying recently that the current Russian leader is "Better than Obama". This has caused some to say that Putin and Trump have some kind of agreement, which Trump has vehemently denied.
