On Tuesday Texas Senator Ted Cruz scored a crushing win in the State of Wisconsin, picking up 48.2% of the vote, compared with 35.1% for Donald Trump. John Kasich came in third with 14.1%.
This now makes it even harder for Trump to obtain the 1,237 delegates that he requires in order to be confirmed as the Republican Partys nominee.
According to AP the current delegate count is now as following:
Donald Trump 743
Ted Cruz 517
John Kasich 143
Now all eyes will be on New York, which is the next state to vote on April 19, as a winner-take-most state, delegates are awarded on a proportional basis, unless a candidate secures more than 50% of the vote and in these case takes all of them.
The latest polls in New York show Trump with a commanding lead.
