During a speech conducted by French President François Hollande, there was a moment of alarm when a gunshot sounded nearby.
It turned out to be the result of one of the police officers, who had the responsibility to protect the event, fired his rifle by accident, injuring his leg and one other person.
The President momentarily stopped his speech while glancing to one side, in an apparent attempt to get some feedback on what had occurred, Saying "I hope it isn`t serious".
France has been in a state of emergency since it was rocked by terrorist attacks in November 2015, killing 130.

Donald Trump Speech RNC Live July 21 2016
As expected Donald Trump has been officially nominated as the candidate for the Republican Party to take on the democrats in November`s election.
Since the departure of Ted Cruz and John Kasich from the race it became evident that the NeverTrump movement had run out of steam and many of those who were vehemently opposed to his nomination have now become reluctant supporters.
According to most national polls he remains adrift of Hillary Clinton but in shock polls that came out last week he was leading in two key swing states, Florida and Pennsylvania.
Many people think that Trump will benefit from a public sentiment of anger with elite politicians but it remains to be seen if he can win over enough votes from women and minorities in order to secure the presidency. Tomorrow the republican nominee will give a speech on the closing night of the RNC in Cleveland.

Donald Trump Speech 25 April 2016
With the republican race hotting up, the 3 candidates will be having a number of events just one day before 5 key states in the north east go to the polls in order to select who they best think can represent them.
Donald Trump in particular has become famous for his explosive speeches to packed crowds. On Monday April 25 he will give two speeches in Pennsylvania, at 4pm at West Chester University and at 7pm at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
With less than 2 months left before the end of the primaries, there is much doubt swirling around the republican nomination. Donald Trump is the only one who can get the 1,237 delegates required in order to secure the nomination. Failing that, it will come down to a contested convention which is likely to be a very chaotic event which threatens to lay bare great divides within the party.
