The presidential debate is being anticipated with bated breath in the United States and indeed, all over the world. The total number of Americans expected to tune in, via television and online could top 100 million, making it the most viewed in history.

Despite the fact that both candidates have high unfavorable ratings with Hillary Clinton, representing the establishment, at a time when many people are disenfranchised with the political system. Donald Trump Speech RNC Live July 21 2016

As expected Donald Trump has been officially nominated as the candidate for the Republican Party to take on the democrats in November`s election.

Since the departure of Ted Cruz and John Kasich from the race it became evident that the NeverTrump movement had run out of steam and many of those who were vehemently opposed to his nomination have now become reluctant supporters.

According to most national polls he remains adrift of Hillary Clinton but in shock polls that came out last week he was leading in two key swing states, Florida and Pennsylvania.

Many people think that Trump will benefit from a public sentiment of anger with elite politicians but it remains to be seen if he can win over enough votes from women and minorities in order to secure the presidency. Tomorrow the republican nominee will give a speech on the closing night of the RNC in Cleveland.

Republican Debate Live 2 / 13 / 2016

The last debate before the South Carolina primary is upon us and the line up has already been released. Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Ben Carson and John Kasich will all take to the stage in what promises to be a fiery encounter with so much still to play for.

Recent polling shows that public opinion in the state has remained consistent for some months, with Trump holding a sizable lead over his main challenger. The business mogul is at 36% with Ted Cruz coming in at 19%. If Trump can avoid any slip ups then we will most likely be in for a repeat of the New Hampshire results. The interesting thing to note will be which candidate emerges as the main challenger to Trump looking forward to making a move in the southern states, hitherto Cruz and Rubio are the most likely. However the latter suffered a serious setback in New Hampshire leading many to question whether he can regain momentum or if he has suffered a fatal blow.

You can catch the debate on CBS at 8pm CST on CBS.
