With less than 2 months left until the election, polls are beginning to tighten, especially in certain swing states.

Such a close race, which seemed unlikely just a few months ago, means that the debate could be of massive importance. This will take place on Monday September 26 and is being awaited with massive anticipation in the United States and around the world.

Certain polls have emerged that show Trump leading in Iowa and Ohio and pretty much tied with Clinton in North Carolina and Florida.

The latest average of national polling is as follows (RealClearPolitics)

Poll Trump Clinton North Carolina September 2016

North Carolina is considered one of the battleground states for this election and it is not hard to see why. In 2008 President Obama triumphed in the state by a mere 0.3% and in 2012 Republican Romney won by just 2.0%.

Being such a tightly contested state it will come as no suprise that this time around the race is once again close, when the average of the latest polls are taken into account, it appears to almost be a tie in the state.

RealClearPolitics Average for North Carolina (August 27-September 12)

Hillary Clinton   42.8%
Donald Trump   42.2%
Gary Johnson    7.2%
