Exit Polls in Florida Today November 8 2016





Election day has finally arrived, after months of debate and polling, it is time to find out the result of the only poll that matters, the vote.

Florida of course is considered one of the most important states in the country to win for both sides, given the devided nature of the electorate there and the large amount of electoral college votes available.

Polling in recent weeks has shown a very tight race between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump.

As soon as the first results from the state of Florida are available they will be published here.

Finally the day of one of the most important elections in recent history in United States has arrived.

After months of intense political battle, now is the moment to find out who has triumphed to take the mantle of President of the United States, will it be the real estate tycoon Donald Trump, or the former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton?

Florida is the most important competitive swing state, it is often very divided politically, Trump must win here in order to have a realistic chance of winning in this election.

The big day has finally arrived, the presidential election will take place today and after a campaign full of scandals and accusations, it is the voters who will have the final say.

Over the last few weeks controversy has never been far away from either candidate, as they fought to take the lead in electoral polls.

Much has been said about how Donald Trump has a tough path to victory as their are certain states he must win in order become president, whereas Clinton has a bit of room to lose in certain places and still walk away with the victory.

Florida Exit Polls Today November 8 2016





Florida is considered the most vital of swing states in the United States and has often been paramount in terms of determining the result of the election.

With every passing election the state actually becomes more important due to the increasing population which saw it gain 2 additional electoral college votes in 2012, bringing the prize to 29 votes.

President Barack Obama won here in 2008 and 2012 for the Democrats and former President George W Bush scored victories in the state in 2000 and 2004. Florida has voted for the overall winner of the election in the last 5 presidential contests.

Predictions Trump Clinton in Florida Election 2016





Historically Florida has been vital in determining presidential elections, given its very divided electorate and high number of electoral college votes.

Many recall the now infamous 2000 election when George W Bush defeated Al Gore here and swept to victory, after weeks of intense debate over whether or not the results were valid and while the recount was underway, Gore finally conceded the loss.

This year the race is once again tight with polls showing just a few points in it, in fact this is the latest RealClearPolitics Average.

Hurricane Matthew Update Path Today October 6 2016



Hurricane Matthew is currently battering the Bahamas after bringing a trail of destruction throughout the Carribean. Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Cuba have all been hit by the massive storm, the most powerful in the region for many years.

The storm is expected to turn westwards and strike Florida later tonight, with eastern coastal regions the most impacted by the storm, which could intensify to once again be a category 4 event.

Residents are avised to remain aprised of the latest forecasts and to not take any chances, a category 3 or 4 event is extremely dangerous and is not to be taken lightly, it represents a danger to life and property.

Preparations are also underway in Georgia and South Carolina as the current forecasts show that the storm will head after striking Florida, more than 2 million people have been evacuated from coastal areas and many schools are closed.

When will Hurricane Matthew Hit Florida ?


Hurricane Matthew continues to bear down on the carribean nations of Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba, which are expected to feel the full force of the category 4 storm.

Up to 27 inches of rain are expected in certain parts of Haiti, which 40 (101cm) inches in insolated areas, possibly triggering landslides and chaos in one of the poorest countries in the world which was devastated by an earthquake in 2010.

With winds of 130mph and gusts even higher, structural damage is highly possible also. The Dominican Republic is expected to be spared the brunt of the hurricane, although some parts of the country, especially in the west, are likely to experience storm force winds and very heavy rain triggering the possibility of flash flooding.

UPDATE: This afternoon forecasters have warned that Hurricane Matthew now looks likely to track west putting the coasts of Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina in danger.

This is the latest predicted path of the storm
