Video Train Accident in Washington : December 2017


An Amtrak train has derailed this morning in Washington State. Photos quickly emerged from the scene showing that various carriges plunged from a bridge onto a highway, prompting authorities to label it as a "Mass casuality" event.

According to intial reports, the train was making on inaugural trip for a high-speed service from Seattle to Portland.

Will there be a war with North Korea? December 2017





In recent days there has been a serious ratcheting up of the rhetoric between the United States and North Korea, this coming amid large-scale air drills between the world superpower and their ally South Korea.

The habitual bellicose tirades have been voiced by the regime in Pyongyang, claiming that the US is "Begging for nuclear war". In addition a missile launch originated from the hermit state just a few days ago after a two month lull in activity, the US affirms that the object was an ICBM, suggesting that Kim Jong-Un is edging ever closer to nuclear strike capability on the United States.

President Donald Trump for his part, used his first speech at the UN in September to vow to "Totally destroy" North Korea, should it threaten the US, striking a notably harsher tone compared to his predecessors.

Another sign of increasing unease at the current climate is the fact that Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has urged the Pentagon to start evacuating US military families from South Korea.

Houthis take over Sanaa, Capital of Yemen : December 2017





Houthi rebels claim to have consolidated control in Sanaa, the Yemeni capital, announcing the "end of crisis" within the city.

This comes following a claim by the Iran-backed group that the ex President Ali Abdullah Saleh was killed as he attempted to flee amidst increasing violence involving myriad militias.

A civil war is ongoing in the country since March 2015, when Saudi Arabia embarked on a bombing campaign, fearing the Houthis were being used as a proxy by its arch enemy Iran in order to gain influence on their southern border.

These latest developments come amid a backdrop of serious tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia across the entire middle east, with each one vying for influence, especially in Qatar (Currently under blockade by the Saudis and their allies), Syria, Lebanon and of course Yemen.

Brexit Deal 2017 Details





An agreement between the UK and EU on the first stage of brexit negotiations may be drawing nearer, EU Council president Donald Tusk has indicated.

Saying that he was "encouraged by progress" on different issues, suggesting agreement on the "divorce bill" and citizens rights was "getting closer".

Brexit has laid bare a deep-seated divide within UK politics, many are frustrated at the lack of progress that has been made hitherto, while others continue to insist that in order to get a good deal, the process will have to be somewhat laborious.

It has been reported from different sources that the UK has offered to pay at least 50 billion euros for the "divorce bill", leading to criticism from leading pro brexiteers, who affirm that the amount is excessive.

Protests at Milo Yiannopoulos Event in Melbourne





Controversial provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos who has garnered a massive amount of both supporters and detractors in the UK and US, where he is most well known, has now arrived in Australia for his "Troll Academy" tour.

Violent clashes broke out in Melbourne after details of the venue for his speech were leaked, both left-wing protesters and supporters of Yiannopoulos faced off and police were forced to intervene to separate the two groups as punches were thrown. At least two arrests have been made.

Killing of Kate Steinle Verdict : December 2017





José Inés Garcia Zárate, an illegal immigrant who was charged with the killing of Kate Steinle, has been absolved of the murder. Although he still faces possible gun charges relating to the incident which occurred in in July 2015.

This particular case has taken on myriad angles, after becoming a key campaigning point for President Trump during his 2016 presidential run.

Zárate had previously been deported from the United States five times and was currently being sought in order to be deported once again when the incident took place, which he alleged happened after taking sleeping pills that he found in a dumpster, then accidentally firing a gun he also found. Zárate has seven prior felony convictions.

Following the acquittal of Zárate, an enraged  President Trump took to Twitter to make his feelings known. "A disgraceful verdict in the Kate Steinle case! No wonder the people of our Country are so angry with Illegal Immigration"

With Crypto Currencies becoming ever more popular, Bitcoin prominent among them, many analysts are torn as to whether this is the future of buying and selling online or a grave threat to our economy.

Alien Life Discovered on the ISS? November 2017





A potentially groundbreaking discovery was made on the International Space Station (ISS) when previously absent bacteria appeared on the hull of the module.

Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov affirmed that "Bacteria that had not been there during the launch of the ISS module were found on the swabs".

This hints at the intriguing possibility that the bacteria may be of non terrestrial origin with Shkaplerov apparently telling a Russian news outlet that "They came from somewhere in outer space and settled on the outside of the station".

The next step will be to analyse the micro-organisms further on earth, in order to ascertain if these stunning assertions hold any credibility.

New Elections in Germany Government November 2017

Angela Merkel, current leader of Germany has expressed her preference for a second election in the country over the forming of a possible minority government.

This statement came on the back of the heels of the news that coalition talks between Merkel`s center-right CDU party and the Freedom Democratic Party (FDP) had broken down.

“We are facing a situation which [we] did not face in the Federal Republic of Germany for almost 70 years", stated German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Germany is the biggest economy in Europe and fourth biggest in the world and if it is unable to form a stable government then possible economic tumult awaits in the near future.

North Korea Declared State Sponsor of Terrorism

North Korea has become the fourth country on the list of state terrorism sponsors following an announcement by Donald Trump at the White House this Monday.

“Today the United States is designating North Korea a state sponsor of terrorism,” declared Trump, adding that “It should have happened a long time ago, should have happened years ago.”

The tension between the US and North Korea has been ratcheting up over the past few months since Trump took office, with the commander in chief even using his speech at the UN to declare that the US would have no choice but to "totally destroy North Korea" were the US or any of its allies threatened by the rogue state.

Conspiracy theorists have gone into overdrive during the course of the last few days, insisting that the return of "nibiru" or "planet x" will occur on Sunday November 19.

The mythical celestial object is said to have an orbit of 3,600 years and its passing is associated with massive gravitational and atmospheric effects, leading many proponents of the theory to make doomsday predictions.

Video Bear Shot Dead in Osnabruck Zoo Germany



Another sad incident has ocurred in a zoo, this time in Germany, where a rare hybrid brown-polar bear was shot dead after escaping from its enclosure.

OsnaBruck Zoo, was forced to evacuate 4,000 people after the animal reportedly broke free from its cage and was shot in order to prevent danger to visitors and staff.

It is the second tragedy in the last few days at Germany´s zoos after a baby polar bear named Fritz died earlier this week.

Mardi Gras Accident Crash in Alabama 2017 Photos

During a Mardi Gras parade in the city of Gulf Shores, Alabama, a tragic incident occurred when a van impacted a high school marching band from behind, leaving 11 people injured, 3 of them are in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing screams as the alarming scene unfolded, with one person claiming that the vehicle accelerated into the crowd.

The event has since been canceled in the town, which has a population of about 10,000 people.

People continue to investigate the incident, and it is unknown whether it was an accident or done on purpose.

Video François Hollande Shots Fired During Speech

During a speech conducted by French President François Hollande, there was a moment of alarm when a gunshot sounded nearby.

It turned out to be the result of one of the police officers, who had the responsibility to protect the event, fired his rifle by accident, injuring his leg and one other person.

The President momentarily stopped his speech while glancing to one side, in an apparent attempt to get some feedback on what had occurred, Saying "I hope it isn`t serious".

France has been in a state of emergency since it was rocked by terrorist attacks in November 2015, killing 130.

Mt Etna in Sicily is the highest and most active volcano in Europe and on Monday night it provided the inhabitants of the region with an awe-inspiring sight.

A dramatic eruption spewed ash and lava from the south east corner of the crater, being visible from the nearby towns of Catania and Taormina.

Etna and its neighbor Mt Vesuvius, are two of the most studied volcanoes in the world, due to a convergence of different factors, including size, historic eruptions, ongoing activity and proximity to highly populated areas.




Donald Trump Speech to Congress Highlights 2017



On Tuesday evening President Donald Trump gave one of his most important speeches to date when he addressed the United States Congress.

It is no secret that despite triumphing in the elections held last November, his popularity among fellow politicians has left a lot to be desired. Many of his harshest critics have come from within in own party, although many republicans rallied around him following his victory, for the sake of unity and in order to not alienate their own voters.

Trump began his speech trying to strike a tone of reconciliation and unity before launching himself into his campaign promises, on deregulation, creating jobs, border security and putting America first, highlighting the steps he has already made in these areas.

Yesterday Buzzfeed published a controversial article about President Elect of the United States. 

In the so called "Dossier", it was reported by the news site to contain sensitive information about Donald Trump, of which the russian government in possession and could use it in order to blackmail him. 

The alleged information, which Buzzfeed admitted could not be verified, was said to have been presented to Barack Obama and Trump himself, in order to produce evidence of russian influence on the election process.

The Super Bowl is without doubt the most important sporting event in our country, according to figures released from 2016, it had an average viewership of 112 million and peak viewers of 167 million.

A 30 second publicity spot during the commercials is estimated to have a cost of 5 million dollars, making it by far the most expensive.
