Wisconsin Republican Poll GOP March 28 2016

Two new polls appear to show that Ted Cruz has gained an advantage on Donald Trump in the state of Wisconsin. The northern state goes to the polls on April 5 with a total of 42 delegates on offer.

An Emerson poll conducted between march 20-22 had Ted Cruz on 36%, leading Trump on 35% and Kasich in third with 19%. In addition to this a Free Beacon poll has Cruz with an even greater lead, Cruz polled 36% with Trump on 31% and Kasich on 21%.

Compare this with a poll from Marquette in February which showed Trump leading Cruz by 30-19 although this was at a time that Rubio was still in the race.

It will be interesting to see who wins in this state, just a few weeks before New York goes to the polls.

The next states that go to the polls in the republican primaries are Wisconsin and New York.

Wisconsin votes on April 5 and a total of 42 delegates are available.

A new Emerson poll shows Ted Cruz with a slight advantage, although this is well within the margin of error.

Wisconsin being a winner-take-all state means that just a few per cent can make the difference.

In New York an Emerson poll conducted between march 14-16 shows Trump with a massive lead.

Donald Trump 64%
Ted Cruz     12%
John Kasich  9.5%

New York is a winner-take-most state.

The Republican race to become the party`s nominee for the presidential elections in 2016 is hotting up. It would now appear that there are only two possible outcomes to the primaries, that Trump reaches the 1,237 he requires and becomes the party`s nominee, or he doesn`t and in that case a contested convention awaits.

Republican Poll GOP Florida March 14 2016

Hitherto the republican race to be the party`s nominee has been fraught with controversy and arguments and just a few nights ago protestors against Donald Trump forced him to cancel a rally in Chicago. 

With voting in the key state of Florida just days away, tension is mounting over who will eventually win the nomination. Whoever emerges triumphant, will obtain the state`s 99 delegates as Florida is a winner-take-all state. 

The RealClearPolitics average shows Donald Trump well ahead on 39.9% followed by Florida Senator Marco Rubio on 25.2%, Ted Cruz on 18.2% and Kasich on 8.6%. 

Ohio Republican Poll GOP March 12 2016

Ohio will vote on March 15 in what is seen as a vital contest within the race for the republican nomination.

According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls it shows a very tight battle between Trump and Kasich, who is the current governor. Trump is at 36.5% almost tied with Kasich on 34%. Cruz and Rubio have little chance of making an impact, at 16.3% and 7% respectively.

The format of the distribution of delegates is winner-take-all, making the battle between Trump and Kasich all the more significant. Should Kasich tip Trump then it could arrest his momentum somewhat and raise the hopes of those who are hoping for a brokered convention in order to wrestle the nomination away from the business mogul.

Inversely, should Trump take Ohio as well as Florida then it would strengthen his position massively.

Republican Poll GOP Illinois March 12 2016

Illinois goes to the polls on March 15 and 69 delegates are available in the state. According to the latest polls Donald Trump is likely to be victorious.

The RealClearPolitics average has Trump ahead of the rest of the field on 32.7%, Florida Senator Marco Rubio is second on 18.7%, Ted Cruz comes in third at 17.7% and John Kasich at 13.3%.

It is too soon to gauge if Thursday`s debate has had any real effect on voting patterns but at this point it would appear that something dramatic would have to occur in order to overcome Trump`s lead in the state.

We are just days away from what for many is seen as a pivotal moment in the Republican Primaries, namely, Florida.

With so many delegates up for grabs (a total of 99) winning the state can change an election campaign. More importantly, these delegates are awarded on a winner-take-all basis, unlike Texas for example, where they are awarded proportionally.

A new poll conducted by Lakeland Ledger / 10News WTSP shows that the gap between Trump and Rubio has tightened somewhat. Donald Trump holds a 36%-30 lead over Rubio, followed by Texas Senator Ted Cruz at 17% and John Kasich at 8%..

Rubio draws significant support from Hispanic voters (62%) whereas Trump leads the Florida Senator among white voters by 40%-24%.
