Second Presidential Debate Format 19 October 2016

After a highly anticipated and heated first presidential debate, we will barely have time to catch our breath because the second debate will take place on October 19, just a few weeks away.

Certainly the first debate, which was viewed by some 100 million people via television and online media, was not exempt from controversy. After a good start, Donald Trump seemed to lose his way as he was mocked by Clinton about his tax returns and comments about women. Many in the Trump campaign have claimed that moderator Lester Holt was harsher on Trump compared to Clinton and "The Donald" also complained that his microphone had malfunctioned.

The second debate will have a Town Hall type format with undecided voters able to pose questions to the candidates during the first half of the event and then in the second the moderators will grill them with different questions.

The debate will take place at Washington University in St Louis and last for a total of 90 minutes beginning at 9pm ET, 8pm CT, 7pm MT and 6pm PT.

New York Primary Exit Polls 19/4/2016

Today voters in the state of New York will have the opportunity to voice their opinions on who should represent their party in the 2016 presidential election.

On the Democrat side, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton will battle it out in a race that is becoming closer than many analysts had at first thought. Excluding superdelegates, who support Clinton in overwhelming numbers and the race is pretty close.

As for the Republicans Donald Trump maintains a healthy lead in the delegate count but it remains to be seen whether or not he will reach the amount that he needs in order to put the nomination beyond doubt.

Recent polling suggest that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the favorites going into the New York Primary but we will await the first exit polls to have an indication who is winning.

Poll South Carolina Democratic Feb 26 2016

After a bumpy start to her campaign, Hillary Clinton seems to be back in the driving seat in the race for the democratic nomination for the presidency in 2016.

She suffered a major setback after being comfortably defeated in New Hampshire which resulted in much speculation as to whether, as in 2008 she would lose after being the favoured candidate for a substational period. However a narrow win in Nevada for Clinton seems to have arrested the momentum of her adversary Bernie Sanders.

Next up in South Carolina where the former First Lady and Secretary of State has a huge lead over the democratic socialist. The Realclearpolitics average has her leading up 57-33.
