Polls Ohio Trump vs Clinton August 2016

Polls in Ohio, one of the key swing states in this year`s presidential election shows a virtual tie between Donald Trump and HIllary Clinton.

The RealClearPolitics average of polls which were conducted between June 30- July 24 shows Clinton with a 0.8% advantage.

RCP Average (June 30-July 24)

Hillary Clinton  42.6%
Donald Trump  41.8%

This is based on the last 5 reliable polls in states, incredibly 4 of these polls all show the two candidates tied with only one CBS News/YouGov showing Clinton up by 4 points.

Barack Obama won Ohio for the democrats in 2008 and 2012 and prior to that George W Bush was victorious in the state in 2000 and 2004.

Although it is a relatively sparsely populated state it is always highly contested and it will be interesting to see the result this time around.
